BACK-to-form Lee Westwood gave his Ryder Cup hopes a boost when he carded a course record 63 in the first round of the Deutsche Bank Players' Championship in Hamburg.

European Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam welcomed the Worksop ace's return to form as the race for Ryder Cup places gathers momentum.
