Sudbury's business community has reacted with anger after town councillors confirmed funding will be axed for a major town regeneration project.

As predicted in last week's Free Press, the [pounds sterling]8,000 of town council money annually pledged to the Sudbury market town officer was not renewed by the Conservative-led council, after a behind-closed-doors debate.

The decision casts huge doubt on the future of current officer Tom McConnell and the market town project officer's steering group he heads.
