QUAKER OATS ANNOUNCES CEREAL PRICE CUTS; MAINTAINS POSITION OF VALUE LEADER IN CEREAL INDUSTRY

CHICAGO, June 26 -- The Quaker Oats Company (NYSE: OAT) announced today a two-part initiative to maintain its position as the value leader among major name-brand cereal manufacturers. Quaker will reduce prices an average of 15 percent on brands representing 87 percent of its ready-to-eat cereal sales. Included in the price rollback are popular brands such as Cap'n Crunch, Life, Quaker Toasted Oatmeal, Quaker Oatmeal Squares and Quaker 100% Natural Cereal.
