HOLLAND - The Board of Selectmen Wednesday appointed Richard A. Polverari to a five-year seat on the Planning Board, 2-1/2 months after the June 9 town election, when Mr. Polverari and Robert J. Peret received the same number of votes for the seat.

Mr. Peret withdrew his name from consideration in an undated letter to selectmen:

"Due to the nature of events, as a result of the recent election where the Planning Board has had the outstanding issue of `Failure to Elect,' I hereby relinquish my efforts to become a member ...
