DERBY boss Billy Davies refused to be downbeat after his side's 2-0 loss at Crystal Palace handed promotion to Sunderland and Birmingham.

The Rams will have to be content with third place in the Championship and endure the high anxiety of the play-offs.

Despite the fact his side led the Championship at the end of March, Davies insisted making the play-offs was no mean feat after last season's scrap to avoid relegation. "I'm disappointed, but very proud because of where we have come from this season," said Davies.
