For longer than almost anyone can remember, Cadillac ads have used the tag line "The Standard of the World."
What's the origin of that statement? Is it an adman's hyperbole? Or is it tied to some event in Cadillac's 94-year history?
The second choice is correct. In 1908, the Royal Automobile Club of England awarded the prestigious Dewar Trophy to Cadillac for interchangeability of parts.
