Multiplexing, touted for years as a way to reduce wiring and weight in vehicles and integrate electronic systems, will be used more in the next five years. To date, multiplexing has been used primarily in upscale vehicles loaded with electronic features. But as electronics systems become more sophisticated and prevalent in all cars, multiplexing will grow.
