The issue of vagrancy, raised by B Wiltshire ("Here we go again", August 18), is one which has occupied the minds of the Democratic Alliance (DA) councillors in Cape Town and in the Helderberg since our election in March 2006. Law enforcement is only one component of the solution to dealing with vagrancy, however.
If it was only an issue of law enforcement, the issue would be easily solved by simply rounding up the vagrants and sending them to prison or moving them on to somewhere else.
