The recent publication of two books on the life and works of Walker Evans promises to shed light on the relatively unknown photographer, who had long been acknowledged as the leading photographer of the Depression era. Belinda Rathbone's 'Walker Evans: A Biography,' examines Evans' private life in detail while Judith Keller's 'Walker Evans: The J. Paul Getty Museum Collection' provides an exhaustive analysis of Evans' works as displayed at the J. Paul Getty Museum.
