A traditional British diet of meat and two veg is the secret to long life, according to Dick Barnes.
And he should know - he celebrated his 100th birthday this week.
Mr Barnes was born in the year Ernest Shakleton set off for the Antarctic in Nimrod, jet engine inventor Frank Whittle was born and the scouting movement started.
And on Wednesday the centenarian, who spent 30 years of his life in Lillington, celebrated his special occasion with 40 friends and relatives.
