WD announced that it is now shipping a backplane-compatible WD VelociRaptor hard drive, one in a lineup of 10,000 RPM SATA WD VelociRaptor series of drives.
The company said its backplane version of the WD VelociRaptor is designed for 3.5-inch drive-based servers, PC and Mac computer users and workstations that require the need for a backplane structure.
