United Republic of Tanzania: Zanzibar, Norway sign pact to fund Pemba Island power project.

Zanzibar and Norway yesterday signed a new agreement on development co-operation to provide funds for the implementation Phase of the Tanga-Pemba Sub Sea Cable project.

A Royal Norwegian embassy press statement issued in Dar es Salaam said the agreement was signed in Chake Chake, Pemba, by the Norwegian Ambassador to Tanzania, Jon Lomey, and the Zanzibar Principal Secretary for Finance and Economic Affairs, Omar Khamis.
