HISTORIC parts of Kirk Michael and Glen Wyllin are to be made a conservation area.

And other villages could be given the same protected status in the future - with St John's, Sulby, Port Erin and Port St Mary earmarked for similar schemes.

They will join a string of conservation areas that have already been created, including Douglas promenades, North Quay and Upper Douglas, St Mark's, Maughold, Silverdale and parts of Ramsey, Peel, Laxey and Castletown.
