Africanized honey bees - the march north has slowed.

Fears that the Africanized honey, or killer, bee may spread to other parts of the US at a fast rate are proving unfounded. The spread of the honey bee to other parts of the country has been slow, with Arizona, New Mexico, California, Puerto Rico and St. Croix the only places beside Texas to have Africanized bee populations. First observed near Hidalgo, TX, this type of bee is known for its ferocious attacks on humans at the slightest provocation.
