A compilation of films is correlated to historic nuclear events to show how the atomic age affected the imagination of the society after the second world war. Examination of the films reveals how awareness of the bomb permeated all aspects of life judging from the varied contexts in which the theme was used. A look at the list shows that the first two 'atomic bomb' film genre was showed in movie houses a month after the bombs were dropped in Japan.
