According to recent research published in the Indian Journal of Chemistry Section a - Inorganic Bio - Inorganic Physical Theoretical & Analytical Chemistry, "The kinetics of oxidation of glyoxylic acid by peroxomonophosphoric acid in acidic medium is reported here."

"The stoichiometry corresponds to the reaction of one mole of peroxomonophosphate for one mole of glyoxylic acid. The reaction is second order (first order with respect to each reactant)," wrote N. Vijai and colleagues, University of Rajasthan.
