A CHORLEY pharmacist could be struck off if allegations he used inside information to try and secure a lucrative contract are upheld.

Sarju Patel is accused of using the sensitive material to criticise a rival chemist's skills in a bid to get his firm on the pharmaceutical list for Chorley and South Ribble Primary Care Trust.

Mr Patel of Ash Road, Coppull, Chorley, denied the charges of misconduct between December 2003 and November 2004 when he appeared at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society disciplinary hearing in central London this week.
