Insurer claims rights to 4th painting; Concord theft after Shrewsbury.(LOCAL NEWS)

The insurance company claiming ownership of three paintings stolen from a Shrewsbury home more than 30 years ago is also asserting that it has rights to a painting stolen from a Concord home just months after the brazen Shrewsbury theft.

Canton-based OneBeacon Insurance Group is involved in two lawsuits involving the paintings - one in Rhode Island federal court and the other in Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham.

There appears to be no connection between the Shrewsbury and Concord thefts beyond the common insurer. According ...
