THE countdown is on as a second new smoking law gets set to hit teenagers across the city.
From October 1, 2007 the legal age for shops and stores to sell tobacco products will rise from 16 to 18 in England and Wales.
The new law comes three months after the introduction of a ban on smoking in public places and will include both over the counter and vending machine sales of cigarettes, cigars, loose rolling tobacco and rolling papers.
However, teenagers across the city are confident that the new law will not encourage them to stub their cigarettes ...
