Emily's [pounds sterling]1,500 doll?

Yorkshire Evening Post (Leeds, England) | April 26, 2007 | Copyright

SHE was a society beauty who never married.

She was a daddy's girl who was his constant companion and she was super-rich. And, like any normal girl, she had her dollies.

One of Emily Kitson's playthings, a sleeping blue-eyed doll given to her 130 years ago, is to go under the hammer at Christie's in London on Tuesday May 1. It is expected to fetch between [pounds sterling]1,000 and [pounds sterling]1,500.

The doll has a wood and papier mache body, wears her original white cotton frock with braided decoration and comes with a large number of accessories.
