Crypt appeal gets [pounds sterling]5,000 kick-start.

A CHRISTMAS appeal for one of the north's best-known charity organisations has been 'kick-started' with a donation of [pounds sterling]5,000
Workers at St George's Crypt hope the cash will roll in to help them expand their work with tens of thousands of people in need of shelter, food, warmth, advice and companionship this winter.
The Crypt beneath St George's Church in Great George Street opened its doors to people in need in 1930 as the Great Depression forced thousands out of work and onto the streets.
