Anniversary farewell to the heroes of Dunkirk.

DUNKIRK veterans are to meet in Leeds for a last farewell dinner ending a tradition stretching back more than 51 years.

At the tender age of 19 Stan Kaye was called up to serve his country and did not return home for seven years.

He left his home in Middleton, Leeds, in October 1939 while working as a draftsman, and was trained with the 3rd Royal Engineer Training Battalion in Ripon, before serving with the Royal Engineers.
