Pit museum past master winds down.

IN ONE way or another, Erwin Bottomley has been at the coal face since he was 16.
But this month, the mine manager and deputy director at Wakefield's famous National Coal Mining Museum will finally hang up his lamp and helmet after heading down the pit for the last time.
The longest serving member of staff at the museum, Mr Bottomley, 71, has spent the last two decades working to pass on the history of the industry which has been part of his life for the past 55 years.
