BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 1996--The Alabama Power Company board of directors today elected Robert Cole Giddens as assistant comptroller in Alabama Power's Corporate Accounting Department, according to Elmer B. Harris, president and chief executive officer.

Giddens, who was manager of Corporate Accounting at Alabama Power, will assist the Alabama Power comptroller in overseeing the financial activities of the company.
