Hot on the heels of its popular recent exhibitions examining questions of connoisseurship in Rembrandt and Goya, the Metropolitan Museum of Art may soon do the same for Michelangelo. Philippe de Montebello, the Met's director, was scheduled to fly to Paris shortly after we went to press to discuss a possible joint Michelangelo exhibition with Louvre director Pierre Rosenberg. According to de Montebello, the show would bring together works by Michelangelo in several mediums, as well as pieces by his predecessors and followers.
