Sure it's bold, hugely ambitious and even a bit crazy, but what grand vision isn't?

Former Vice President Al Gore on Thursday called on Americans to solve global warming, end U.S. dependence on foreign oil and rein in energy prices by converting the nation's electricity production to carbon-free power within 10 years.

Leave it to The Goracle to offer the most radical energy plan by any U.S. political figure - and to re-frame a debate that has been frustratingly focused on oil drilling.
