CROOKSTON, Minn.--Mar. 25--Carrots appear to be a growing trend in the Red River Valley of North Dakota and Minnesota, but it's a crop that, perhaps paradoxically, doesn't have long roots here.

More than 140 people crowded a meeting on growing carrots March 22 at the University of Minnesota-Crookston, sponsored by the Agricultural Research Center.
