New boathouse launch marks special anniversary for Lough Ree Sub Aqua.

This year marks the 25th year anniversary of one of the most important clubs in Longford. The Lough Ree Sub-Aqua club was founded in 1993 by a group of local people including the late Ned Coughlan, following a number of local drowning tragedies in the area. The group began training divers to carry out searches of lakes and rivers in the Midlands of Longford, Roscommon, Leitrim and Cavan and since then they have helped out the gardai and numerous numbers of families of missing people.
