With Northern Elementary School open, questions about the fate of Laughlin Primary have returned.

The school, which housed kindergarten and first-grade students, is now closed.

Former Laughlin principal Teresa Richardson agreed that its closure, however temporary, marks the end of an era, something she hopes to commemorate sometime soon.

But Darlene Garrett, a school board member for the area that includes Laughlin, said the facility likely won't sit empty of students forever.
