It seems only yesterday that the two countries, Japan and Russia, were in a state of confrontation. Since the USSR collapsed and the new Russia was established, the relationship between the two countries has improved. Today ships from Russia are seen in many harbors of Japan.

Japan, which imports almost 90% of the necessities of life, has to maintain good relationships with every country in the world to survive.
