PRIMARY school pupils from all over Huddersfield have been taking part in a week-long sports event at Newsome High School and Sport College.

Thirty-two Kirklees primary schools have taken part in the Mission: Active Kirklees scheme.

This aims to get children fit and also develop their confidence and communication skills.

About 1,000 pupils aged eight and nine took part in activities organised by Newsome School Sport Partnership.
