CANDIDATES from Beverley and Bishop Burton will stand against David Davis in the forthcoming MP election in the Haltemprice and Howden constituency.

A total of 26 candidates are vying for election, including Mr Davis himself.

The election will take place on Thursday, July 10. There are 65 polling stations in the constituency open for voting from 7am to 10pm and the total electorate is 70,100. The count will be held at Haltemprice Leisure Centre.

The contest was trigged when Mr Davis resigned from the house of commons several weeks ago over Government…
