TUESDAY, April 25 was a significant and sad day for Gracehill Golf Club.

Considering the 11 years it has been in existence, perhaps we have actually been fortunate, in the Ladies section, that the only loss to concern us before last week has been that of golf matches - irrelevant in the real life scheme of things.

When we heard a few brief months ago that Isobel Tombe was not feeling the best, no-one imagined what that could mean.

We were all shocked in the club ...
