SEARCH ON FOR RELATIVES OF WWI CASAULTIES.

A SEARCH has been launched for relatives of men from Dromore, Banbridge and Hillsborough who were among those killed or wounded by a stray enemy shell three days before the WWI Battle of the Somme, in which they were due to take part.

The Somme Association is hoping to dedicate a memorial to the men of No.11 Platoon, C company, 13 RIR (108 Bde. 36th Div.) at the church in Martinsart where the shell killed 14 soldiers and wounded many more.

As a result, efforts are underway to locate relatives of the men concerned who would like to attend a memorial service in Martinsart on ...
