The exhibit 'Reconsidering the Object of Art: 1965-1975' is an intriguing exploration of conceptual art. However the exhibit could have benefitted from more historical context and focus. Artists discussed include Adrian Piper, Eleanor Antin and Allen Ruppersberg.

A wide-ranging exhibition at MOCA's Temporary Contemporary in Los Angeles reconsiders the "dematerialization" of the art object during the heyday of Conceptual art. It reveals the contradictory impulses that led a generation of artists to take up such supposedly neutral mediums as photography, film and language.
