The World Council of Churches' conference in Brazil in 1996 will adopt the theme 'Called to One Hope: The Gospel in Diverse Cultures.' The theme is intended to be perceived as ecumenical in nature, making Orthodox theology meaningful in discerning the theme's message. The Orthodox Church has had extensive experience in evangelizing several cultures and has been able to keep its traditions intact.
