The Women's Movement and ESCR: Rights Without Rights

The women's movement in Latin America and the Caribbean intensified and strengthened its use of a human rights framework to demand economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR) during the 1990s. Throughout this decade, feminist and women's groups systematically began to cultivate alliances with human rights organizations to pursue local as well as international demands.
