Faulty assumptions and undemocratic consequences of campaign finance reform.

The undemocratic results of campaign finance reform demonstrate that the premise of regulating political campaigns is an undemocratic notion in and of itself and is inconsistent with the First Amendment. The First Amendment is actually the most effective protector of the democratic process and should be allowed to be the sole guiding principle in campaign finance law. Regulations have led to a system that favors millionaire candidates and special interests by restricting the amount of private fund-raising that candidates are allowed to do.
