The sales revenue and the profit in China's gas production and supply sector reached RMB23.176 billion and RMB1.931 billion respectively from January to February 2008, an increase of 41.88% and 188.51% over the same period of 2007. The growth of the profit was much higher than the growth of the sales revenue. The reason is that the gas sector has taken the lead in the market-geared reform.
