Wesley Snipes gets 3-year jail term for tax convictions.(Brief article)

Actor Wesley Snipes was recently sentenced to three years in prison on tax charges in a Florida court, a victory for prosecutors who sought to make an example of the action star by aggressively pursing the maximum penalty.

Fellow actors Denzel Washington and Woody Harrelson were among the many friends and family members who attested to Snipes' good character during the trial. They argued that the Blade movie star should only get probation because his three convictions were misdemeanors and he had no previous criminal record.
