Lyme disease, I'm sorry to report, is still a serious and growing health threat not only in the United States but throughout the world. The number of new cases recorded annually in the USA has more than doubled since the early 1990s. Now at least 20,000 Americans contract the disease each year, according to the official stats, though some experts estimate the actual number of cases (many of which are unreported or misdiagnosed) is probably three to twelve times higher. If that weren't bad enough, the incidence of Lyme disease is expected to increase by at least another third ...
