Leopold Pilichowski's portrait of Lord Arthur James Balfour's speech at the inauguration of the Hebrew University at Mount Scopus, Jerusalem, Israel, is a reminder that Zionist hopes and dreams can come true. Balfour, a self-confessed Zionist although a Gentile, was 77 when he spoke at the Apr. 1, 1925 event. The university, which relocated to Givat Ram in 1961 after the Jewish-Arab war, returned home to Mount Scopus in Jun. 1967.
