Ex-police chief, 97, is mourned.(News)

FORMER Cleveland and North Yorkshire police chief superintendent and war hero Richard 'Dick' Archer, has died in hospital aged 97.
Mr Archer, who lived in Guisborough for many years, was born in South Bank in 1910 where he was to become a chief inspector before advancing his career.
He started his working life in the steel industry at Dorman Long.
