Battlefield Band continues its recent trend of mixing light and heavy. The opening "Dookin' for Beetroot" set is typical. It opens with a whistle burst from Mike Katz that's reminiscent of an old Jethro Tull theme, gives way to a fiddle-centered melody anchored by Alasdair White, and finishes off with a classic Battlefield bagpipe-driven foot stomper. Then it's Scan O'Donnell giving a contemporary treatment to a John Spillane song, "I'm Going to Set You Free," and another mighty reel set. Abruptly, Battlefield ...
