It was pleasing to read Dick Case's recent column about an effort to rename Meacham Field. The article brought back memories of two exceptional individuals and thoughts of an earlier era, when sandlots and city park fields were our "Fields of Dreams."

Dan Russo is one individual and the other is Joe Stein They both labored unselfishly to make the ball fields we played on levels above the rest. Perhaps that is not an adequate criterion to earn them a place in the local Hall of Fame, but certainly meaningful enough to be remembered by the many athletes who ...
