Stephen Terzolo, of Geddes, saw Pope John Paul II at World Youth Day in Toronto in 2002 and Pope Benedict XVI at World Youth Day in Germany in 2005.

His strategy was to get up early and head where he knew the leader of the Roman Catholic Church would pass. Twice he got to see the pope up close.
