WORCESTER - Worcester State College will join the green revolution this summer with the installation of a 100-kilowatt solar photovoltaic array, a project that is part of the governor's Leading By Example program to increase the amount of solar power used in state buildings.

The panels should generate enough energy to supply 20 homes of about 2,800 square feet each, according to Lea Ann Erickson, the college's director of public relations and marketing. In terms of saved electricity, the panels should pay for themselves in about 15 years. Their ...
