The Ministry of Health published the Health Standard for the Use of Food Additives (GB2760-2007) on March 25th.
The new standard has added principles for use of food additives, classified additives allowed to be used in foods and defined their application scope and amount. Food additives are classified into 22 categories and 1 812 varieties including 290 additives, 1 528 flavors, 149 processing assistants and 55 chewing gum bases.
