The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) strengthens Mexico's position as the US's favorite supplier of textiles and clothing. In Sept. 1995, Mexico's apparel shipments to the US jumped 42.3% to 67 million SME and textiles increased 53.3% to 75 million SME, compared to the same period in 1994.
