The typical Seattle-area house was worth less in February than at any time in almost two years, according to a national index.

February's values were down nearly 1 percent from January and 2.7 percent from a year earlier, according to Standard & Poor's S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Indices, released Tuesday. The annual drop was the largest in the history of the Seattle index, which goes back to the start of 1990.
